But first, what should you be looking for when buying a waterproof jacket for work?
#1 Waterproofness
This might seem obvious but, first and foremost, you need to make sure that it isn’t going to let water in in the normal course of work, no matter how heavy the rainfall, or the length of time the wearer is exposed to it for.
All waterproof jackets are assessed under either the British or European Standard and given either a rating in millimetres of how much water they can withstand (British Standard) or a number rating from 1 to 3 (European Standard).

Under the European Standard EN343, workwear is scored from 1 to 3 (3 being the highest) in two areas: the ability to protect against rain, fog and humidity; and breathability in those conditions.
